Tomorrow is the big day! (written on Monday)

Today, Feb 1, 2010, seemed like any other day. Mandy left for school, we went to the GC Rec Center and then it happened! We looked on an adoption website and realized that our dtc date was going to be included in this referral group. We assumed that it would be several days before we heard anything specific. However, at around 2:00 we received an email from our adoption agency that said our referral is here and they will give us a call tomorrow after they have translated the information.

Are you a boy or girl? How old are you? What do you look like? Are you from the same region of China as Mandy? The list of questions is endless and we know we need to wait until tomorrow to find out those answers. We began this process in August of 2005 and it has been a long wait and we know that we can wait yet another night to see your face.

God has been forever present. We began gathering our paperwork in August of 2005. When China received our paperwork April 5, 2006 we thought it would be a short 6-9 month wait and now it is February 1, 2010. The wait has been long but we have felt God's presence and his assurance that this is the direction that he is leading us as a family.

My prayer for you, my child, is that you may feel God's love through your caregivers and that His protection will be upon you as we await the special day of adding you to our family. When Mandy first joined our family I sang a special song to her quite frequently. It goes like this "I love you with the love of the Lord, yes I love you with the love of the Lord. I can see in you the glory of the Lord and I love you with the love of the Lord." I sing this to you now across the miles because I already know in my heart that I love you and that I will definitely see God in you when I see you face to face.

Until tomorrow...
